Wish I’d done this swap sooner, the plastic wheels that originally came with my chair apart from noisy when moving on the floor had started to degrade and become less cooperative when moving. Ordered these after seeing a video on YouTube on a whim and can say it was a great move. Went with these ones as the price was good and the idea of having breaks on the wheels seemed like a nice option to have(don’t ask me why as I don’t know it just did) vs the others that I viewed. When they arrived they fit perfectly and now I can glide about silently and smoothly when needed. One thing to note is they are about a centimetre or so taller than the original fit wheels so for someone like me who’s 6ft 4 it’s actually a nice bonus getting a little more height out of the seating position.
I have a Secret Lab chair and wanted some wheels which would lock in place whilst I kick my feet against some brake pedals.I'll start with the con (only one, really):- With these wheels on, the chair becomes generally hard to move around. They don't seem to rotate very easily, and in comparison to the default Secret Lab ones (which handle movement very well) it can actually hurt your feet if you want to re-arrange the base into a specific position.Next, a point that's either a pro or a con depending on who you are/what you want:- The wheels are large. Coming from the default Secret Lab wheels, these wheels raised my default seating height up quite a bit. This meant I couldn't lower my chair as much as before but I could raise it further. Depending on whether height has ever been an issue, or going as low as possible is important to you, this will either be a pro or a con!Now the pros:- These wheels are solid. They feel like they are high quality in general and the wheels themselves are made of a pretty firm material (like a really solid rubber, not a plastic-y material)- The brakes are really good. With all 5 brakes enabled, you CAN NOT move this chair, especially with somebody else sitting on it. I tested this on carpet and it's really really really difficult to move this chair. On a hard floor, with the wheels being a hard rubber material, I can imagine it'll be just as difficult.- Assembly is simple. These fit just like any other wheels; you push them in until they clunk and then you sit on the chair. These wheels do clunk quite easily and satisfyingly ... Adding to their "high quality feel".All in all, these wheels served their purpose of making my chair immovable, however they raised my chair a bit too much, meaning my pedals also needed raising.
I was struggling to add extra height to my office chair, finally my search came to end with news wheels, for surely add extra height helps, doesnt get stuck on carpet and took about a min to replace all five wheels. Overall good product, sturdy, and definitely recommend.
As you can see in the video the wheels are so much better quality than my standard wheels that came with the chair but also allow to glide across the floor effortlessly. The instructions supplied were really clear and simple that the upgrade was done in seconds. This is a no brainer wish i did it years ago.
Great product, the bigger wheels are much better on carpet than standard castors, will buy again when needed, perfect service from this seller.
